Well, Gilles' mum popped over to the Proceedings of the Athanasius Kircher post on her son's work and wrote the following:

Hi, I’m Gilles (proud !) mother. Here is an update on him. He is now 34. His book was published in French in 2004 and is now available in english (here) or will be very shortly in tne US. You can also view a short feature on him made for British TV here. Thanks for (most of) your posts.

She also added a link to this Article on Asperger's syndrome, clearly implying that some of the people who had commented on his son's creation were in need of a bit of enlightenment.
